CA training is owned and operated by Rick Crawford with help from an assistant trainer. Rick has been training professionally for 6 years, riding and training for personal use for 21 years. We specialize in foundations and problem horses but have the know how and facility to accomodate most things. We have a cowtrac 2 and we regularly haul to a nearby ranch to work cows . And if we can't accommodate your needs we'll tell you we can't, honesty and transparency are number 1 to us. We are equipped to deal with the really wild ones safely for horse and handler and do it with as little stress on the horse as possible. We believe that knowing how to read an animal is the most important thing when it comes to training. If we can figure out what they need to succeed then we can provide that. We are very big on manners and forming a mutual respect with the animal. We believe in being a strong confident and caring leader for our horses and yours. Our goal is to produce confident, willing and respectable horses. We use a combination of pressure and release and positive reinforcement, both being as important. Video updates are provided weekly at the very least, text or phone updates are provided every few days and on breakthrough days. 24 working days in a 30 day span is guaranteed. If your horse is off at all or sustains an injury you will be notified right away and videos and pics will be sent and a plan we both agree to will be put in place. We highly recommend coming to visit us for a day or a few hours or at bare minimum a phone conversation before you make a decision on your horse coming to us. We want to make sure it's a good fit for all parties involved. All horses need to be up to date on teeth, feet and vaccines 5 way and strangles. We can facilitate this upon arrival.
